Life at Iveshead
At Iveshead, students are actively supported to become involved in all aspects of school life. We encourage them to participate in a variety of activities to help develop their self-esteem and confidence and in turn build workplace and life skills.
Sport
Students have the opportunity to play a wide range of sports. There is a programme of lunchtime and after school clubs, with regular matches and tournaments against other schools. We are very proud of our sporting successes. Our teams are frequent winners and finalists in local school league competitions as well as county and area championships.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Older students can take up the challenge to achieve gold, silver and bronze accreditation.
Trips and residential visits
These are a prominent feature in school life. Recent examples include ski trips to France and theatre visits to Nottingham, London and the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford. Curriculum-linked residentials take place on a regular basis to a range of destinations e.g. Walesby, Shropshire, Paris and Barcelona. Students in all years are encouraged in their aspirations through visits to universities including Loughborough, Nottingham, Oxford and Cambridge.
Performing Arts
We have an outstanding reputation for performing arts. Our school productions are renowned within the community and have become eagerly anticipated events on the local calendar. Dance students regularly participate in festivals and events and together with our music department, enjoy a tradition of success with talented former students performing in the West End and on television.
Art & Design
The work of our students is showcased in our state of the art Mark Parker Gallery which we have on campus. We are extremely proud of our art students who achieve recognition through local and national art competitions and contributions to exhibitions.
